An Israeli officer aged 28, who participated in fighting in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks, was found dead by suicide. According to an investigation by the Israeli army published on August 3, most suicide cases among soldiers are linked to the harsh conditions they face in Gaza. Since the start of the war on Gaza, about 3,770 soldiers have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, reflecting the deep psychological impact of military operations on soldiers. The ongoing fighting, including announcements by Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades about Israeli casualties and destroyed military vehicles, adds to the psychological pressure on soldiers. Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation army, supported by the US, has waged a war of extermination on Gaza’s population, resulting in over 61,000 Palestinian deaths, more than 154,000 injuries, and near-total displacement of Gaza’s residents.

This catastrophic humanitarian situation reflects unprecedented destruction since World War II, raising questions about the region’s future and the impact on Israeli soldiers.
