An Israeli officer aged 28 was found dead by suicide after participating in fighting in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks. An Israeli army investigation published on August 3 revealed that most suicide cases among soldiers are linked to the harsh conditions they face in Gaza. Since the start of the war on Gaza, about 3,770 soldiers have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, reflecting the deep psychological impact of military operations on soldiers. The Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades continue to report Israeli soldier casualties and destruction of military vehicles during battles in Gaza, broadcasting parts of their operations, which increases psychological pressure on soldiers. Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation army, supported by the US, has waged a war of extermination on Gaza’s population, resulting in over 61,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 154,000 injuries, along with near-total displacement of the population.
This catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza reflects unprecedented destruction since World War II, raising questions about the region’s future and the impact on Israeli soldiers.
