– The endower’s condition aligns with the goals of the Third National Development Strategy
– The endowment’s revenue benefits the Awqaf Fund for Family and Childhood Care
– The property was endowed to support indebted individuals and repay their debts
In a charitable initiative reflecting deep faith in the role of endowments in achieving social solidarity and enhancing family stability, the General Administration of Awqaf at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced the receipt of a new real estate endowment in the Ghrafa Al Rayyan area, consisting of a two-story villa with an annex and a majlis, donated by a generous benefactor to support indebted individuals through the Awqaf Fund for Family and Childhood Care.
According to the endowment deed, the endower stipulated that she benefits from the property throughout her life, after which the supervision of the endowment will transfer to the General Administration of Awqaf to invest it and direct its revenue in accordance with her condition.
Records indicate that the endower had not endowed before, making this charitable initiative her first contribution to the institutional charitable endowment system in the country. The General Administration of Awqaf confirmed that the endowment deed specifies allocating all the property’s revenue to support indebted individuals through the Awqaf Fund for Family and Childhood Care, one of six funds established by the administration to meet various charitable fields.
On this occasion, Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Mir, Assistant Director General of the General Administration of Awqaf, said that receiving this real estate endowment in Ghrafa Al Rayyan represents an important addition to the endowments allocated to support indebted individuals. It is a practical embodiment of the endowment’s message to alleviate the needy and reinforce the values of mercy and solidarity advocated by our noble religion.
He confirmed that the endower’s condition to direct the endowment’s revenue to support indebted individuals will enhance the goals of Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy 2025-2030, which aims to consolidate family cohesion, achieve social justice, and raise living standards. He added that the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, through the General Administration of Awqaf, adopts a strategic vision aimed at developing endowment work and maximizing its impact on society through professional management of endowment assets and ensuring the direction of its revenue to achieve the endowers’ purposes and align with national development priorities. This endowment reflects the increasing trust of benefactors in Qatar’s institutional endowment system and confirms steady progress towards sustainability in charitable work.
This initiative is particularly significant as it targets support for indebted individuals, one of the most prominent forms of social solidarity that contributes to protecting the family fabric, alleviating burdens on families, and avoiding the effects of financial distress that may impact social stability.
The Awqaf Fund for Family and Childhood Care finances programs and projects that enhance family stability and support childhood needs in health, education, and social fields, in line with Islamic Sharia objectives and Qatar National Vision 2030, especially in the pillars of social and human development.
The ‘Relief of Distress’ endowment supports needy families and assists those struggling to meet their financial obligations, preserving their dignity and helping them overcome their crises and reintegrate into social and economic life.
The General Administration of Awqaf invites philanthropists wishing to establish an endowment whose revenue is spent on one of the Awqaf funds to create ongoing charity and receive reward until the Day of Judgment to initiate endowments through various methods:
