While clearing the rubble of a destroyed house in the Karm al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Homs, residents found human remains belonging to victims of the Syrian regime massacres in 2012. The Syrian Civil Defense, coordinating with public security and operations management, discovered a mass grave containing the remains of three unidentified individuals. The neighborhood was the site of a siege and bombardment by regime forces and militias, involving field executions and kidnappings that resulted in dozens of casualties and many missing persons to this day.
