The ASEAN Committee, composed of ambassadors of member countries to the UAE, held its third meeting in Abu Dhabi with His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State. This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen relations between the UAE and ASEAN, which the UAE joined in 2022 as a sectoral dialogue partner, and to begin implementing the joint action plan for 2024-2028. The meeting was chaired by Hussein Baqis, Ambassador of Indonesia to the UAE, with participation from ambassadors of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. His Excellency Al Sayegh welcomed the ASEAN ambassadors, praised the progress in the partnership, and affirmed the UAE’s commitment to consolidating cooperation ties. He highlighted the committee’s role as an effective platform to enhance coordination and explore new horizons for joint work within the approved plan.
