The activities of the “Youth Humanitarian Work” festival have started in Alexandria in its new session, organized by the Directorate of Social Solidarity in Alexandria in partnership with local associations, in the presence of representatives of civil society organizations, volunteer youth, and officials from official bodies.

The meeting was opened by Amani Mohieddin, Deputy Director of the Social Solidarity Directorate, who welcomed the attendees on behalf of Dr. Fayza Zayed, Director of the Directorate, emphasizing the importance of integration between civil society organizations and youth to achieve sustainable development and build a more cohesive society.

In her speech, Dr. Nermin Sweidan, Director of the Civil Society Organizations Department, confirmed the Social Solidarity’s readiness to support all initiatives that comply with laws and work for the benefit of the nation, praising the festival’s development in terms of activities and the expansion of partnerships year after year.

Similarly, media professional Nashwa Fawzi, festival president, highlighted the media’s role in shedding light on civil society activities, likening the festival to a “newborn” that grows and matures year after year, noting its modest beginnings two years ago compared to the large scale of current activities.

Rami Yousry, President of the “Stay Positive” Association, explained that one of the festival’s goals is to renew communication mechanisms with youth and motivate them to volunteer by highlighting its benefits in building personal skills and expanding professional networks.

Yousry pointed out that the festival’s activities will continue for a full month, from August 7 to September 7, including more than 20 diverse activities. He also confirmed that this event reflects the real support of the Egyptian state, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for civil society efforts and reflects the stability that Egypt is witnessing today.
