On Monday, Minister of Youth Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan met with the Australian Ambassador to Jordan, Bernard Lynch, at the ministry headquarters, in the presence of the ministry’s Secretary-General Dr. Mazen Abu Baqr. The meeting aimed to discuss ways to enhance youth cooperation between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, Al-Adwan emphasized the deep historical relations between the two countries and outlined the ministry’s plans and programs to empower youth and enhance their participation in public life, including political and economic empowerment programs, volunteering, the King Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Work, and technical empowerment for youth.
The Minister reviewed national efforts to implement Resolution 2250, which was adopted thanks to the efforts of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, aiming to involve youth and enhance their contributions to building sustainable peace. He also referred to the Jordanian national plan for youth, peace, and security, which will be launched at the end of October 2025 to support the general framework of the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace, and Security.
Dr. Al-Adwan also discussed the national youth strategy for 2026-2030, which is based on the ongoing national youth survey conducted by the ministry.
For his part, Lynch reviewed the Australian youth experience in promoting youth participation in public life and its role in keeping Australian youth aligned with global digital transformation trends. Lynch expressed Australia’s welcome for establishing youth exchange programs between the two countries and youth programs aimed at exchanging expertise and knowledge.
