Researchers from the Psychology Department at Harvard University indicated that incorporating some simple habits into daily life can significantly enhance feelings of happiness and reduce chronic mental fatigue. According to their study results, practices such as daily gratitude journaling and focusing on positive aspects help redirect thinking away from stress and tension.

They also emphasized that temporarily distancing oneself from digital screens and phones gives the brain a chance to rest and reduces mental exhaustion caused by the constant flow of information. The researchers explained that walking in nature or spending time outdoors supports the release of happiness hormones such as serotonin, and that practicing deep breathing or simple meditation helps calm the nervous system and restore mental balance.

The researchers confirmed that these habits may represent the “first line of defense” against mental burnout, especially when practiced regularly every day.
