MP Ayman Abu Al-Ala, head of the parliamentary body of the Reform and Development Party and Deputy of the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives, emphasized the importance of the Egyptian-American summit for peace and stopping the war in Gaza, held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Abu Al-Ala said today: “We stand today at a historic crossroads after the conclusion of the Egyptian-American summit for peace in Gaza, held under the joint presidency of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Donald Trump of the United States, with an unprecedented high-level international presence.

He added: “The large attendance of leaders and heads of delegations from around the world confirms beyond doubt that the Palestinian cause and stopping the war in Gaza is today the central issue enjoying wide international consensus and a deep understanding of the dangers of ongoing conflict to global security and peace.

He continued: “This summit was a true embodiment of the international community’s will to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and to move seriously towards adopting a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that ensures sustainable calm, opens the way for immediate and intensive humanitarian relief, and begins reconstruction efforts for what the war destroyed.”

The head of the parliamentary body of the Reform and Development Party praised Egypt’s tireless and sincere diplomatic efforts, which have once again proven it to be a fundamental pillar of stability in the region and an indispensable axis for any genuine peace process.

He also praised the constructive and leading role of the United States in supporting de-escalation efforts and its insistence on moving forward towards a clear vision for the future.

He pointed out that the results of this summit and the understandings and commitments issued represent a giant step forward and a strong starting point for activating a serious and credible political track based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, so that everyone can live in security and peace.

He called on all regional and international parties to build on this positive momentum and the international unity demonstrated at the summit and to work tirelessly to ensure full implementation of the agreements, enhancing the chances of achieving lasting peace and comprehensive justice in the region and preventing the return of the specter of war.
