The Egyptian presidency revealed that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh summit to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza.

The opening session is expected to include speeches by participating heads of state and government, alongside discussions on implementing the agreement, ensuring the ceasefire’s sustainability, and addressing humanitarian support and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Key Leaders and Dignitaries Participating

On Monday, an international summit will be held at the conference center in the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with wide participation from world leaders, chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Notable confirmed participants include UN Secretary-General António Guterres, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

No official announcement has yet been made regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s participation, while Hamas Political Bureau member Hossam Badran told AFP in an exclusive interview that “Hamas will not participate” in the signing process on Monday in Egypt, which will be limited to “mediators and American and Israeli officials.”

Also attending are Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Despite an invitation to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iranian media reports confirmed he “will not participate,” with no confirmation or denial from Tehran.

On Monday morning, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Egypt to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.

Macron stated: “There must be an international legal framework for the international force in Gaza,” adding, “We are coordinating with the United States regarding Gaza’s future.”

The French presidency (Élysée) had previously announced that President Macron would visit Egypt next Monday to support the implementation of the Gaza peace plan mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump.

With Trump’s Presence and Hamas’s Absence, Egypt Hosts International Summit on Gaza Agreement

The Egyptian presidency announced on Saturday evening the organization of a summit on Gaza on Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh, attended by U.S. President Donald Trump and with broad international presence.

Trump is expected to travel to the Middle East Sunday evening to attend the signing ceremony of the Gaza peace agreement in Egypt, which may mark the end of two years of bloody war between Israeli occupation and Hamas, according to media reports.

Hebrew media revealed that Trump is expected to meet with hostage families, while Egyptian media reported preparations are underway to receive the U.S. president on Monday.

The U.S. president’s planned visit to the Middle East follows his early Thursday announcement that Israel and Hamas agreed on the first phase of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Hamas: Will Not Participate in Sharm El-Sheikh Summit

Hamas announced it will not participate in the summit. Hossam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, told AFP that Hamas “will not be concerned with participation,” explaining that Hamas “mainly worked through Qatari and Egyptian mediators” during previous Gaza negotiations.

No announcement has yet been made regarding Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s participation.

Axios quoted a U.S. official Friday evening saying Netanyahu’s attendance is not expected at this time. The Palestinian Authority also does not appear to have a representative attending the summit.

Macron Attends Summit Alongside Other EU Leaders

French President Emmanuel Macron will travel to Egypt on Monday to support the peace plan between Israel and Gaza, according to French media.

Leaders or foreign ministers from Germany, Spain, France, the UK, Italy, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia are expected to attend the summit scheduled for Monday in Egypt.
