Footage released by Hebrew platforms showed a convoy of Israeli Prison Service buses heading to several detention centers to transport Palestinian prisoners who are to be released as part of a prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel.
The Israeli government approved an urgent amendment to the list of Palestinian prisoners included in the anticipated exchange deal, despite having previously ratified the list.
Hamas leader Mohammed Nazzal said the movement has not received the final lists of Palestinian prisoners in the upcoming exchange deal, pointing out that Israel is “manipulating the agreement in terms of numbers and names.”
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Israeli Prison Service received orders to release Palestinian prisoners as part of the exchange deal.
Israeli media reported on Sunday evening that the prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas will begin in two phases at 8:00 AM on Monday.
