Sharm El-Sheikh – the Land of Peace – is hosting a historic and exceptional event in the form of a peace summit aimed at establishing a path to peace in the Middle East, stopping the war in Gaza, and working towards restoring stability to a region that has become a powder keg ready to explode due to multiple conflict hotspots, expanding disputes, and numerous crises. From the Land of Peace, today the world’s top leaders gather, invited by Egypt to achieve the hoped-for stability and to offer the world a chance to redraw the map of the Middle East in line with the interests of the countries in the region, the wider area, and indeed the entire world.
We must remember that from the very first moments, Egypt stated that there would be no return to stability except by ending the war on Gaza, and that conflict only breeds more conflict. The world should recognize Egypt’s sincerity, vision, and ability to foresee the future, as well as its wisdom, experience, and awareness, based on its firm principles defending just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
What took place in Sharm El-Sheikh in negotiations and efforts that led to the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of a ceasefire and the signing of the first phase of the agreement between the Palestinian resistance and Israel is nothing but a reflection of Egypt’s status and leadership role, embodying its ongoing ability to shape the balance of power and manage crises. It reaffirms to the world once again that Cairo does not wait for events but creates them, as confirmed by the calculated and smart move at this timing, especially since it is not merely a reaction but an expression of a comprehensive strategic vision for managing regional crises.
Most importantly, this coherent vision and honest policies have earned the world’s respect and have made it return to Egypt whenever crises intensify. Even the great powers acknowledge that Cairo is not managed by anyone but manages situations with an independent vision and historical responsibility.
In conclusion, everyone must realize that the Sharm El-Sheikh summit is a pivotal milestone in the region’s history, a strategic transformation that reshapes the Middle East map, consolidates Egyptian leadership as an indispensable regional power in managing security and peace files, and grants the Palestinian cause new momentum and international legitimacy. Egyptians can take pride that from the heart of Sharm El-Sheikh, their country is making peace today just as it made victory before, and that peace can only pass through it.
