Hamas leader Muhammad Nazzal said the movement has not received the final lists of Palestinian prisoners as part of the anticipated exchange deal, pointing out that Israel is “manipulating the agreement in terms of numbers and names.”

Nazzal told Al Jazeera Mubasher on Sunday evening that “the negotiation battle is still intense, and we will not allow the occupation to shirk its responsibilities according to what was agreed upon,” adding that the final formula for releasing Israeli prisoners “is still linked to the results of the ongoing negotiations so far.”

The Hamas leader revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed mediators that he “does not want to release a new Sinwar from prisons,” referring to his refusal to release some prominent leaders, considering this “part of the occupation’s attempts to evade implementing the deal’s terms.”

Nazzal stressed that “the resistance is ready for any treachery from the occupation side,” confirming that handing over the resistance’s weapons “will only be considered after the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.”

In concluding his statements, Nazzal announced that Hamas “will not participate in the signing ceremony of the agreement scheduled tomorrow in Sharm El-Sheikh.”
