Port Said University hosted an educational seminar commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the Glorious October Victories (1973), under the slogan “The Will of a People That Made Glory”, in a grand national celebration embodying the highest meanings of pride and unity. The event was attended by high-level figures including Major General Mohab Hebishy, Governor of Port Said, and Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University.

From Defeat to Victory

The seminar hosted Major General Dr. Samir Farag, former Director of the Morale Affairs Department and a prominent strategic and military expert, who delivered a lecture titled “From Defeat to Victory,” providing a vivid and in-depth testimony of the extraordinary transformation journey between 1967 and 1973.

Major General Farag reviewed the special military feats of the armed forces, starting from the War of Attrition and the destruction operations of the destroyer “Eilat” and the submarine “Davar”, to the brilliant preparation for crossing the canal and breaking the Bar Lev Line. He praised the “Mansoura Air Battle” as one of the greatest battles in modern military history, and addressed the youth emphasizing that “today’s battles are battles of science, knowledge, and awareness,” urging them to draw inspiration from the “Spirit of October” to confront rumors, sedition, and seriously contribute to the path of national development and progress.

Wise Leadership as an Extension of the “Spirit of October”

In his opening speech, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh welcomed the honored guests, affirming that the October anniversary remains a “bright page and a moment of pride and honor” in modern Egyptian history. Let us all be united behind our wise leadership for a strong, safe, and prosperous Egypt.”
