Dr. Bilal Jaafar, a media and communication sciences researcher at the University of Oum El Bouaghi and one of the speakers and workshop facilitators at the Content Creators Camp that concluded on Saturday, October 11, stated that the content creation field in Algeria is going through a highly dynamic and promising phase, yet it is still developing and maturing.

In his responses to Echorouk Online, the researcher explained: “We have a young, creative, passionate generation well connected to social platforms, and Algeria possesses a rich cultural and touristic diversity that can form a strong foundation for content creation.”

The second edition of the Content Creators Camp, held at the Abdel Latif Rahal International Conference Center under the slogan “The Responsibility of the Word and the Stakes of Awareness,” saw the participation of more than 250 influencers and content creators.

However, according to the researcher, this passion faces several challenges including professionalism, technical quality, and production continuity. He noted that “there is still a lack of guidance and understanding of growth strategies and how to promote content that is continuous and professional. Most efforts are individual and rely on personal diligence, which makes institutional intervention necessary.”

He sees an “urgent need” to organize events like the Content Creators Camp to “build competence and professionalism” on the one hand, and to “guide content” on the other.

He explained: “Digital content production is no longer just a hobby; it has become an industry requiring specialized skills in filming, editing, storytelling, digital marketing, and even legal aspects and intellectual property rights. The camp provides this scientific and professional guidance and helps turn passion into a real profession.”

He added that such events “offer the opportunity to steer content creators towards purposeful and useful content that serves development and Algeria’s positive image. Instead of drifting after superficial trends, the focus is on how to integrate value, knowledge, and innovation into daily content. They also serve as a platform for networking and exchanging experiences among young influencers.”

Speaking about his experience as a speaker and facilitator at the camp workshops, he said: “What I noticed most during my interaction with the youth in the ‘Digital Content Building Strategy and Trends’ workshop is their thirst for knowledge and methodological tools, especially among the new generations of influencers.”

He added that he sensed great passion and a strong desire among content creators to be positively influential, but they face difficulties structuring their ideas and turning them into clear and long-term growth strategies.

He also pointed out that “there are many questions about how to combine commitment to valuable issues and keeping up with trends without sacrificing credibility and quality, which shows that our generation is aware of the dual challenge: to be both influential and beneficial at the same time.”

Regarding the future role of social networks and content creation, Dr. Jaafar believes they will play a pivotal and increasingly influential role in our future lives on several levels, especially with the development of artificial intelligence technologies.

He said: “In education and culture, platforms will transform into future universities and libraries, becoming our primary source of information, training, and self-learning. In the economy and labor market, content creation will become a pillar of the digital economy and a major source of new job opportunities, as digital skills and content marketing will be essential across various fields and professions. In societal and political formation, the direct influence of content on public opinion will grow stronger, and content-building tools will become means for active citizenship and advocacy for societal issues.”

He concluded: “The future belongs to content, and those who do not master its creation or consume it consciously will be outside the realm of actual influence.”
