Dr. Zaher Al-Shaqanqiri, spokesperson for the Republican People’s Party, confirmed that the party is still in the process of finalizing the names of its candidates for individual seats and the list for the House of Representatives elections, noting that it will not compete in all electoral districts.

He added in a statement to “Youm7” that the party focuses on the quality of the parliamentary body’s performance rather than the number, which is a strategy adopted by the party for the parliamentary entitlement at both the Senate and House of Representatives levels. He pointed out that the party has not yet finalized its candidates on the National List for Egypt, saying, “The party bets on the efficiency of its candidates and the performance of the parliamentary body in both chambers, not the quantity.”

Al-Shaqanqiri said consultations are still ongoing regarding the arrangement of the electoral process, confirming that the party is in a constant state of meeting until it completes its full preparations for the House of Representatives elections and announces them in the coming days.

The spokesperson confirmed that the party has completed forming the central operations room and those in the governorates, determining the mechanisms for managing the electoral process and distributing field tasks to its cadres, ensuring full readiness to compete in the upcoming parliamentary race.

It is worth noting that Judge Hazem Badawy, head of the National Elections Authority, announced a call for voters inside and outside the country to vote in the 2025 House of Representatives elections, which will be held in two phases: the first in 14 governorates and the second in 13 governorates.

The nomination period is scheduled to open from October 8 to October 15, from 9 am to 5 pm except for the last day which ends at 12 noon. The Administrative Judiciary Court will consider appeals for 10 days from October 19 to 21, with the final list of candidates announced on October 23 and the last date for withdrawal on October 25. Withdrawals will be published in the official gazette on October 26. Election campaigning starts on October 23, and the electoral silence begins on November 6.
