Egyptian security and media sources reported early Sunday that three Qatari diplomats died and two others were injured in a car accident near the city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The sources stated that the delegation was involved in the accident in the early hours of the morning about 50 kilometers from Sharm El-Sheikh while heading to attend the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza.

Sources indicated that the delegation was traveling in a single diplomatic vehicle within the convoy accompanying the Qatari Prime Minister, and two of the injured are receiving treatment in intensive care.

Reuters quoted two security sources saying that three Qatari diplomats were killed in a car accident in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

The sources added that two diplomats were also injured in the accident.

Sharm El-Sheikh is expected to host an international summit on Monday to finalize an agreement aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip.
