Hussein Al-Sheikh, the Palestinian Vice President, announced that he will meet with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Jordan tomorrow, Sunday, to “discuss the day after in Gaza.”

Blair is seeking to take a prominent role in managing Gaza’s affairs after the war, according to a plan by U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the bloody conflict.

The British newspaper Financial Times quoted informed sources saying Blair’s name was proposed to head a supervisory council called the “International Transitional Authority for Gaza.”

Blair participated in a meeting chaired by Trump in late August to discuss Israel’s war in Gaza and post-war plans for the region.

The newspaper also reported in July that the “Tony Blair Institute” was involved in a project to develop a post-war plan for Gaza.

On Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his U.S. counterpart will chair an international summit in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, preparing to implement the ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the U.S.

In a phone call, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti and his U.S. counterpart Marco Rubio discussed arrangements for the “Sharm El-Sheikh summit, which will be co-chaired by el-Sisi and Trump,” according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry today.
