The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has launched the “Dubai Startup Guide” aiming to provide a comprehensive roadmap to empower entrepreneurs to establish and expand their digital companies by leveraging Dubai’s advanced business ecosystem.

The guide offers integrated guidance on Dubai’s entrepreneurship environment, with in-depth information on key procedures for establishing companies specialized in digital sectors, including legal requirements, licensing options, available funding channels, as well as regulations concerning entities that support digital startups, alongside a directory of accelerators, business incubators, technology experience labs, and free zones.

The “Dubai Startup Guide” includes the required procedures and available options to establish companies in 12 main sectors of the digital economy, detailing specialized free zones, business accelerators, and relevant regulations for each sector. These sectors include 3D printing, agri-tech, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital assets, ed-tech, fintech, e-games, med-tech, metaverse/web3, proptech, and software as a service, reflecting the diversity of opportunities available in Dubai for innovators and entrepreneurs across various digital fields.

The guide’s launch coincides with the recent opening of the “Dubai Entrepreneurs Hub,” a qualitative addition to the startup, small and medium enterprise ecosystem in the emirate. It is the first platform of its kind integrating physical presence with a comprehensive digital ecosystem, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and other business owners and supporting institutions under one roof.

The guide is designed to help entrepreneurs and innovators understand Dubai’s evolving business landscape, enabling them to make informed decisions and benefit from Dubai’s competitive advantages as a global business hub. It also provides detailed practical advice, digital resources, and recommendations for obtaining tailored support, empowering entrepreneurs to start or expand their projects in the emirate.

The report launch precedes the “Expand North Star 2025” exhibition, the world’s largest startup event organized by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. This year marks the event’s tenth anniversary since its launch in 2016, reaffirming Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for the digital economy.

It is worth noting that “Expand North Star” is a fundamental pillar in the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s efforts to transform the emirate into a global leader in technology and innovation, in line with the goals of Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
