Ali Abed, the lawyer for the family of the six deceased Delga children and their father, revealed details of the second trial session of the second wife “Hagar A.” (29 years old), accused of killing the children. He confirmed that the court president accepted all defense requests and summoned several toxicology experts, faculty members from the College of Agriculture, forensic experts, as well as the accused’s brother and sister.

The session was held on Saturday under the presidency of Judge Alaa Eldin Mohamed Abbas, with members Judges Hussein Nagida and Ahmed Mohamed Nasr, and secretaries Ahmed Samir and Adel Emam.

The toxicology experts testified that the type of poison used is very dangerous, with effects appearing only after three days, and it is lethal. They indicated this in reports submitted to the court.

The court also heard testimonies from the accused’s siblings, Mustafa A. and his sister Sarah, whose statements contradicted each other. They tried to justify the accused’s confession by claiming they were under pressure and that she was forced, but the court found inconsistencies in their statements.

Lawyer Abed revealed that one of the deceased children was tortured by testing the poison on him, and a girl named “Rahma” was beaten and burned instead of her sisters. He pointed out that they were Quran memorizers and were subjected to many abuses by the stepmother.
