Finance Minister Yassin Jaber, on his way to Washington to participate in the World Bank and IMF autumn meetings, affirmed that “the criminal Israeli attack that took place at dawn today on civilians and civil institutions in the Al-Musaylih area will not deter us from our pursuit and determination to provide everything necessary to rebuild what Israel has destroyed and continues to destroy.”

He added that he confirmed this to the President of the Southern Council after communicating with the Speaker of the Parliament and several officials. On his way to Washington, he will seek with representatives of friendly and brotherly countries to Lebanon and all capable funding and support entities to initiate assistance. He hopes to achieve results that can raise the funding ceiling for the founding fund launched with the World Bank dedicated to rebuilding what Israel caused in its attacks, aiming to raise the ceiling to one billion dollars.

Jaber stressed that “the response to these attacks can only be through determination to insist on reconstruction, and the Southerners’ insistence on staying on their land. The government must strengthen their resilience, which is the challenge that imposes the responsibility of prioritizing reconstruction in our work with the help of all who want our country to enjoy stability.”

He also mentioned that he tried to contact Prime Minister Nawaf Salam but was unsuccessful as the latter was abroad.
