US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Palestinian factions will hold, noting there is consensus on the next phases of the Gaza plan.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, “There is agreement on the next stages of the Gaza plan,” adding, “I am confident the ceasefire in Gaza will hold.”

He pointed out that many leaders will participate in the summit to sign the Gaza agreement, stating, “I will visit Israel and deliver a speech before the Knesset, and I will also visit Egypt.”

Trump also stated that hostages held by Hamas in Gaza “will return” on Monday, noting that “about 28 bodies will be recovered.”

He emphasized that the peace agreement extends beyond Gaza to include the entire Middle East region.

A recent document revealed details of Trump’s executive plan to end the war on Gaza, including a precise timetable for the ceasefire, prisoner exchange, and the start of humanitarian aid delivery in preparation for the sector’s reconstruction.

The document outlines a series of field and political measures to be implemented in the first days after both parties’ approval, aiming to stabilize the truce and gradually restore life in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a joint statement strongly rejecting any “foreign guardianship” over Gaza, affirming that the governance of the sector is a purely internal Palestinian matter.

The factions said in the statement: “We strongly reject any foreign guardianship and affirm that determining the form of Gaza’s administration and the foundations of its institutions is an internal Palestinian matter jointly decided by the components of our national people.”

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect on Friday after two years of devastating war in Gaza, marking the first step in Trump’s plan to end the war and launch a transitional process towards calm and stability.

The Israeli Ministry of Justice published a list of 250 Palestinian detainees expected to be released as part of the exchange agreement with Hamas in return for Israeli hostages held in Gaza.

The list does not include several prominent Palestinian leaders, considered symbols of the armed Palestinian struggle against Israel, whom Hamas has demanded to be released, such as Marwan Barghouti, Ahmed Saadat, and Hassan Salameh.
