Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies and Chairman of the Advisory Council of Sharjah Emirate, affirmed that Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the “Euro-Arab Medical Congress” embodies its position as a leading center for knowledge exchange and scientific research, as well as its active role in developing innovative applied solutions in mental health and rehabilitation. It also reflects a deep belief in investing in humans as the foundation and goal of sustainable development, and strengthening partnerships between experts from Europe and the Arab world to build more comprehensive and humane medical systems.

Raising Awareness

During his speech at the official ceremony, he said: “The convening of this congress coincides with World Mental Health Day to reaffirm the UAE’s firm commitment to supporting global efforts aimed at raising awareness of mental health and achieving balance between body and mind in the comprehensive development journey. Psychological care and medical rehabilitation are inseparable from the country’s vision of building a cohesive society enjoying well-being and quality of life.”

Abdullah Al Hamidan, Director General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, said: “The recommendations of the previous conference were a guiding beacon for us, as we made scientific research and innovation a fundamental focus in the organization’s strategy, in partnership with national and international institutions such as the Emirates Researchers Center and the European Medical Association, to develop advanced technical solutions in artificial intelligence, medical robotics, early detection programs, and smart rehabilitation, contributing to improving the quality of life and enhancing the independence of people of determination.”

Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Secretary-General of the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies and a member of the Board of Trustees, also confirmed that the congress is a unique scientific platform seeking to utilize scientific research results in serving humans and society. The focus of the second session on rehabilitation medicine and psychology reflects the center’s directions towards enhancing the role of knowledge and innovation in developing health systems.

It is noteworthy that the official ceremony of the second session was launched on Friday morning at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, with the participation of 800 specialists from 30 countries, 60 international speakers, and the presentation of 30 accredited research papers, in a global scientific event gathering a select group of ministers, decision-makers, healthcare leaders, and researchers from Europe and the Arab world.
