Most Asian stock indexes fell on Friday following a pause in the rally of the US Wall Street stock exchange, while gold prices retreated after a recent series of increases.

All Asian stock indexes declined today except South Korea’s Kospi index, which rose by 1.3% to 3596.36 points as trading resumed after a holiday.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index dropped 1% to 48,087.75 points after significant gains yesterday following economic data showing producer prices rose more than expected in September.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index fell 0.8% to 26,534.65 points, while the Shanghai Composite index declined 0.5% to 3,913.98 points.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index decreased 0.1% to 8,959.80 points, while Taiwan’s stock exchange was closed for a holiday.

On Wall Street, the S&P 500 index fell 0.3% on Thursday from its all-time high to 6,735.11 points, marking its second decline in the last ten days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.5% to 46,358.42 points, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.1% to 23,024.63 points.

Gold prices also declined by 2.4%, falling below $4,000 per ounce.
