The Israeli occupation army continues its gradual withdrawal inside the Gaza Strip on Friday, expected to complete within 24 hours the pullback to locations specified in US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war on Gaza, according to Hebrew media.

Channel 12 Hebrew private channel stated: “Within the next 24 hours, the army will complete its withdrawal from certain areas inside Gaza to the yellow line, as agreed in Trump’s plan between Israel and Hamas.”

The Gaza Civil Defense reported the withdrawal of Israeli occupation army vehicles from several areas.

Channel 12 added: “Forces are expected to withdraw eastward from Rafah, Khan Yunis, and areas in northern Gaza, approaching the border with Israel.”

The channel continued: “According to the agreement, the three teams operating in Gaza City as part of the Gideon Vehicles operation will withdraw from the city within the next 24 hours, and thousands of soldiers will be stationed on new lines.”

It added: “As the deal progresses, the army will withdraw from its controlled areas inside Gaza to other areas until it controls 53 percent of the Gaza Strip.”

Early Friday, the Israeli government approved a ceasefire agreement on Gaza and prisoner exchange with Palestinian factions, meaning the ceasefire agreement came into immediate effect.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said, “The ceasefire in Gaza officially comes into effect after government approval of the prisoner deal.”

It added: “The Israeli government approved early Friday a long-awaited agreement with Hamas to release hostages, activating the ceasefire in the sector.”

Israeli Broadcasting Corporation also indicated that the ceasefire agreement entered into effect according to Trump’s plan.

The Israeli occupation army launched several attacks on Gaza areas Friday morning after the ceasefire came into effect, without reports of casualties.

With US support, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza since October 8, 2023, resulting in 67,194 martyrs and 169,890 injured, mostly children and women, and famine that claimed the lives of 460 Palestinians including 154 children.
