The Egyptian National Railways Authority, in cooperation with the Internal Media Sector of the General Information Authority, organized a public seminar to raise awareness about negative behaviors related to the railway facility at the media complex in Alexandria. This initiative aims to enhance community awareness regarding proper conduct with public facilities, especially the railway system. Participants included the Director General of the Da’wa and Religious Media Area and Chairman of the Fatwa Committee at Al-Azhar in Alexandria, a representative of the Evangelical Church, the Deputy Head of the Journalists Syndicate in Alexandria, civil society representatives, journalists, and school students from the governorate.

The seminar highlighted the most dangerous negative behaviors threatening citizens’ lives and the safety of the railway facility, such as crossing level crossings while closed, creating illegal crossings on the railway tracks, throwing garbage on the rails, riding trains in unauthorized areas like the roofs or between train cars, and the phenomenon of children throwing stones at trains.

Participants emphasized the seriousness of these practices, which contradict the religious and cultural values of Egyptian society, and called for joint efforts by civil society and the state to mitigate their negative effects.

The attendees also stressed the importance of the awareness efforts carried out by the Egyptian National Railways Authority to preserve achievements and development projects continuously undertaken by the state to ensure the sustainability of excellent service for citizens.

It is noteworthy that these seminars are organized based on directives from Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, to raise awareness about negative behaviors against the railway facility, which serves millions of passengers daily. The state pays great attention to this vital facility through development and modernization projects, requiring shared awareness and responsibility from citizens to preserve it.
