The Ministry of Health and Population announced the completion of medical screening for 3,521 candidates running for the parliamentary elections, conducted from October 4 to 9, 2025, across all governorates of the Republic, following procedures to ensure the candidates’ health safety.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that medical screening committees distributed across various governorates received candidates to perform the necessary medical and laboratory tests, following the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to facilitate the medical screening procedures and ensure their efficiency and speed.
Major General Dr. Amr Abed, Assistant Minister of Health for Digital Transformation, stated that Dakahlia Governorate topped the list with 357 candidates, followed by Cairo with 345 candidates. The distribution of candidates who underwent medical screening during the specified period was as follows:
- Cairo: 345 candidates
- Alexandria: 191 candidates
- Port Said: 14 candidates
- Suez: 19 candidates
- Ismailia: 46 candidates
- Damietta: 70 candidates
- Dakahlia: 357 candidates
- Sharqia: 312 candidates
- Qalyubia: 110 candidates
- Kafr El Sheikh: 130 candidates
- Gharbia: 173 candidates
- Menoufia: 158 candidates
- Beheira: 291 candidates
- Giza: 247 candidates
- Beni Suef: 54 candidates
- Faiyum: 84 candidates
- Minya: 183 candidates
- Assiut: 134 candidates
- Sohag: 212 candidates
- Qena: 154 candidates
- Aswan: 66 candidates
- Matrouh: 24 candidates
- New Valley: 24 candidates
- Red Sea: 16 candidates
- North Sinai: 24 candidates
