Israeli occupation forces shelled the cities of Khan Yunis and Gaza early Friday, despite the announcement of a ceasefire agreement.

The occupation forces shelled the Katiba area in central Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, with several artillery shells, coinciding with drone flights over the city.

The occupation aircraft launched a violent airstrike in central Khan Yunis early morning.

East Gaza City also witnessed an airstrike by occupation aircraft, artillery shelling, and helicopter gunfire.

Late last night, the occupation government approved a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu’s office said the government officially approved US President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza.

It added that the government agreed on the broad outlines for releasing all detainees.

With the government’s announcement of approval, the ceasefire came into effect.

President Trump announced Thursday night the agreement to implement the first phase of his plan to achieve peace in the Middle East, which includes ending the war on Gaza, Israeli withdrawal, entry of humanitarian aid, and prisoner exchange.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have committed genocide crimes in Gaza, resulting in the death of more than 67,000 Palestinians and injuring about 170,000 others, mostly children and women, with famine claiming the lives of 460 Palestinians including 154 children.
