Tripoli, October 9, 2025 (WAL) – The Ministry of Water Resources announced today, Thursday, the start of the olive harvesting and pressing season at the agricultural projects affiliated with the Great Man-Made River Water Investment Authority – Jabal Al-Hassawna system, one of the executive bodies under the ministry.

The ministry explained in a statement on its Facebook page that this activity comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of water investment in agricultural projects and achieve production sustainability, within a national vision aimed at supporting food security and increasing the economic returns from water resources.

The officials of the authority indicated that this year’s season is expected to witness high productivity and excellent oil quality, due to the application of modern irrigation and fertilization programs and continuous care of olive trees within the agricultural projects irrigated by the Great Man-Made River water.

The Ministry of Water Resources confirmed that these efforts represent a model of integration between sector institutions in utilizing water resources to serve sustainable agricultural development, contributing to supporting the national economy and achieving balanced development across various regions.
