Several explosions were heard in Kyiv on Thursday night into Friday, according to reporters from Agence France-Presse, while the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy announced that the country’s energy facilities are under a “massive” Russian attack.

AFP reporters in central Kyiv said they heard multiple explosions as well as the sounds of attack drones flying over the capital’s sky.

Furthermore, Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk stated that Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on energy targets in Ukraine.

She wrote on Facebook: “Energy experts are taking all necessary measures to mitigate the negative impacts.”

Former US President Donald Trump noted that the United States and NATO are “intensifying pressure” to end the war in Ukraine, after his attempts to open dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a ceasefire failed.

He told reporters, “Yes, we are intensifying pressure… we are intensifying it together and all of us. NATO has been great.”
