The Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that the Ministry of Justice is facing “technical difficulties” in publishing the list of Palestinian prisoners scheduled for release under the war-end agreement.
It revealed the removal of four prominent prisoner leaders from the release list: Marwan Barghouti, Ahmed Saadat, Abbas Al-Sayyid, and Hassan Salama.
It also added that other names were excluded from the list, including prisoner Hakim Awad, accused of carrying out an operation in the Itamar settlement in 2011, and prisoner Mahmoud Attallah.
Conversely, the list included names of other prisoners to be released, including Iyad Abu Al-Rub, “leader of Islamic Jihad in Jenin,” Ibrahim Alqam, “perpetrator of a 1996 operation,” Bahij Badr, “one of Hamas leaders in Beit Liqya,” in addition to Jihad Roum, Hussein Ghawadra, Nasser and Mahmoud Abu Surur, Nabil Abu Khdeir, and Raed Sheikh.
