The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the agreement reached regarding Gaza, and the commencement of the implementation of the first phase of President Trump’s proposal aimed at stopping the war on the Gaza Strip and preparing a comprehensive and just peace path.
The Kingdom praised the active role of U.S. President Donald Trump and the mediation efforts exerted by the brothers in the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Turkey to reach this agreement.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Kingdom expressed hope that this important step would lead to urgent work to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the complete Israeli withdrawal, the restoration of security and stability, and the start of practical steps to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, embodying the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the New York Declaration on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and implementation of the two-state solution.
