US President Donald Trump confirmed on Thursday that his administration may impose additional sanctions on Russia.
Trump was speaking alongside Finnish President Sauli Niinistö when a White House reporter asked if he planned to impose more sanctions on Russia, to which he replied, “Maybe.”
Trump also indicated that the United States does not plan to withdraw its troops from Europe.
Additionally, he suggested expelling Spain from NATO due to its failure to meet the defense spending requirement of 5% of GDP, which Trump had previously emphasized.
Trump told reporters at the White House: “We have one delinquent member, it’s Spain,” adding, “They have no excuse for not achieving it, but that’s okay. Maybe they should be kicked out of NATO, frankly.”
