The Government Media Office in Gaza issued an urgent statement this Thursday morning, calling on citizens to exercise the utmost caution, coinciding with ongoing reports about an imminent ceasefire agreement.

The statement specifically warned against traveling on the main and coastal roads in the Gaza Strip until an official Palestinian announcement is made.

It emphasized the need to completely avoid movement on Al-Rashid Street (coastal) and Salah al-Din Street (internal), the two main arteries connecting the north and south of the Gaza Strip.

The warning applies to travel in both directions (north to south and vice versa) as well as the surrounding areas.

The Government Media Office attributed this warning to protecting citizens’ lives, stating it is a precaution against any violations or targeting that the Israeli occupation might undertake at zero hour.

The statement urged citizens not to feel fully reassured until a clear and confirmed official announcement is issued by the relevant Palestinian authorities, advising against relying solely on media leaks when making decisions about movement and returning home.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that preserving lives is a national priority and a collective responsibility.

This statement is the first official directive from a governmental body in Gaza directly addressing the field implications of the imminent ceasefire, reinforcing the credibility of reports about the near announcement of an agreement.
