US President Donald Trump said that his country “will be part of the peacekeeping process in Gaza.”

In an interview with Fox News, he confirmed that Arab countries in the Middle East will contribute to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which “will become a safer place,” according to his words.

Trump pointed out that countries “with vast wealth” will participate in reconstruction efforts.

He added that Washington “will help make the process successful and maintain peace.”

The US president explained that rebuilding Gaza will be a first step within a “broader peace vision” in the region, noting that Iran “might be part of this process in the future.”

On the humanitarian front, Trump announced that hostages held in Gaza will likely be released next Monday, saying, “I believe the hostages will return on Monday, including those who have died.”

Trump’s statement comes hours after he announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, describing it as a “historic breakthrough” toward long-term stability in the Middle East.
