The US Central Command stated on the X platform that its forces carried out a precise strike in Syria on October 2, resulting in the death of Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Ahmad, a senior attack planner and member of a terrorist group linked to Al-Qaeda.
The Central Command confirmed that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to target terrorist leaders and disrupt their planning and execution capabilities, noting that Al-Ahmad posed a direct threat to regional security and US interests.
The statement quoted US Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper saying, “US forces in the Middle East remain ready to disrupt and defeat terrorists’ efforts in planning, organizing, and carrying out attacks.”
