The UAE youth cycling team continued its brilliance at the Arab Road Cycling Championship held in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, adding three new medals—two golds and one bronze—to its tally, raising the total to 6 medals (4 golds and 2 bronzes), a feat that confirms the strength of UAE cycling on the Arab stage.

Star of the team, Youssef Amiri, won the gold medal in the individual general youth race, achieving a double after his previous gold in the team time trial. Meanwhile, Ali Ahmed Nasirani earned the bronze medal in the same race. The UAE youth team also won gold in the team event for the individual general race, continuing their dominance at the top positions in the championship.

The Arab championship continues until October 13, with participation from nine Arab teams: UAE, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Libya.

The team had opened its participation by winning two golds and one bronze in the first days, before adding three more medals, clearly demonstrating the high technical readiness of the young cyclists and the excellent preparation they underwent for upcoming challenges.

Mohamed bin Shafie, director of the national teams, confirmed that the continuous achievements by UAE cyclists in the Arab championship reflect the fruits of planning and systematic work by the UAE Cycling Federation. He pointed out that these results serve as a strong motivation for other teams—juniors and seniors—to continue achieving successes in the coming days.

Bin Shafie added that the outstanding performance of UAE youth translates the development of the sport system in the country and confirms the success of technical and administrative programs in preparing a promising generation of cyclists capable of raising the UAE flag in various regional, continental, and international forums.
