The weekly report of the Egyptian Exchange revealed the volume of companies’ balances of international depositary receipts until the end of the current week, with the balance of depositary receipts for EFG Holding Group rising to 380.569 million receipts, and the Commercial International Bank – Egypt to 135.133 million receipts.

Meanwhile, the balances of depositary receipts for Madinet Nasr for Housing and Development remained stable at 527.934 million receipts, and Telecom Egypt at 255.362 million receipts.

The Egyptian Exchange ended Wednesday’s session with a collective rise in indices driven by buying operations from Egyptian and foreign investors, while Arab transactions leaned towards selling. The market capitalization gained 15 billion Egyptian pounds to close at 2.642 trillion pounds.

The trading volume on stocks reached 1.9 billion securities worth 13.4 billion pounds, through executing 114.8 thousand transactions for 221 companies. Egyptian transactions accounted for 44.91% of total trades, foreigners 27.25%, Arabs 27.84%, and institutions 73.81%, with individuals making up 26.18% of transactions.

Net transactions of Egyptian and Arab individuals and Arab institutions leaned towards selling by 29.2 million pounds, 32.8 million pounds, and 7.1 billion pounds respectively, while foreign individuals and Egyptian and foreign institutions leaned towards buying by 2.2 million pounds, 76.4 million pounds, and 7.1 billion pounds respectively.

The EGX 30 index rose by 0.75% to close at 37,376 points, the EGX 30 Capped index increased by 0.73% to close at 45,639 points, the EGX 30 Total Return index jumped by 0.74% to close at 16,801 points, and the EGX35-LV low volatility stocks index rose by 0.57% to close at 4,096 points.

The EGX 70 Equal Weight index for medium and small companies rose by 0.03% to close at 11,342 points, the EGX 100 Equal Weight index increased by 0.12% to close at 14,972 points, the Islamic Shariah index jumped by 0.49% to close at 3,723 points, the Tamayoz index rose by 1.66% to close at 16,016 points, while the Treasury Bonds index declined by 0.08% to close at 2,208 points.
