The security forces of the South Sinai Security Directorate managed to uncover the details of a video circulated on social media, showing a person injured after being hit by a car while walking in the jurisdiction of the First Sharm El-Sheikh Police Department. The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended.
The security follow-up monitored the video showing the incident in the First Sharm El-Sheikh Police jurisdiction, South Sinai, where a car collided with a pedestrian who was walking, and the driver fled.
Upon investigation, it was found that on September 15, the First Sharm El-Sheikh Police Department received a report from a local resident stating that while walking in the area, he was hit by an unknown private car whose driver fled the scene, causing him fractures and multiple bruises.
The car and its driver, an unemployed resident of the area, were identified and apprehended. The driver admitted to causing the accident unintentionally and explained his escape was due to fear of accountability.
The car was impounded and legal procedures were taken against the driver.
