Mokhtar Jibril, head of the Matrouh Chamber of Commerce, stated that several measures have been taken as part of a plan to provide basic foodstuffs and strategic needs to citizens by offering them at reduced and reasonable prices.

The chairman of the Matrouh Chamber of Commerce board explained in a press statement that efforts have been intensified to activate mobile outlets initiatives within the state’s efforts to provide basic foodstuffs at competitive prices to citizens, as part of a series of supportive initiatives.

He added that the procedures for providing necessary goods at outlets rely on increasing fixed and mobile outlets and expanding their scope to include one-day markets, sustainable markets, and branches of consumer complexes.

The measures also include securing a strategic stockpile of foodstuffs, along with the necessary quantities of basic materials such as poultry and feed, and cooperating with various entities to ensure the delivery of goods at low prices to citizens in different areas.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Ghazy, director of the Matrouh Chamber, confirmed that the Chamber’s board is taking intensive measures, including expanding the network of outlets by increasing the number of fixed and mobile outlets such as one-day markets and sustainable markets, as well as enhancing the strategic stockpile by securing sufficient quantities of basic goods in government warehouses to ensure their availability for long periods, as is the case with cooking oil and subsidized sugar, in addition to import and supply efforts such as importing white chicks to increase table egg production and importing animal feed to improve supply and reduce prices.
