Gaza, October 2, 2025 (WAL) – The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced today, Thursday, that the Israeli army has seized more than 40 ships from the Global Steadfastness Fleet heading to the Gaza Strip and arrested hundreds of participants, following a night of attacks on the fleet’s ships.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that hundreds of participants are being transferred to the Ashdod port for “voluntary deportation” or legal procedures for forced deportation.
It revealed that the army and navy forces are conducting a maritime sweep to ensure no ship succeeds in approaching the Gaza Strip.
This came after the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that it will deport all activists who were on board the Global Steadfastness Fleet ships to Europe.
Since Thursday morning, international condemnations have been mounting over the Israeli attack on the Steadfastness Fleet ships, while several countries, including Turkey, Kuwait, Colombia, Spain, and others, announced efforts to release their citizens detained by Israeli authorities.
However, the Steadfastness Fleet announced that some ships continue to head towards the Gaza Strip to carry out their mission to break the siege imposed by the occupation.
The Steadfastness Fleet, which set sail from Spain at the end of last August, includes 44 ships carrying hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists from more than 40 countries.
Meanwhile, the Maghreb Steadfastness Fleet to Break the Gaza Siege announced that it entered the territorial waters of the Gaza Strip, approaching its goal of breaking the siege imposed on the area, despite Israeli interception and attempts to stop it at sea.
The fleet organizers condemned the illegal attack on unarmed relief workers and called on governments, world leaders, and international institutions to demand the safety of all aboard the vessels and their release.
