The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Qalyubia, under the supervision of Dr. Tamer Salah Mokhtar, Director of the Directorate, and follow-up by Engineer Amal Abdel Qawi, Deputy Director, managed to seize a large quantity of meat and poultry unfit for human consumption in the city of Obour.

The directorate’s statement explained that the campaign, led by the Khanqah Supply Department in cooperation with the Internal Trade Department, Supply Control Department, and the Grain Maintenance Section, with the participation of a committee from the Veterinary Medicine and Environment Department of the Obour Authority, managed to seize about 10 tons of food products, including:

    • 3 tons of red buffalo meat (150 cartons, each carton weighing 20 kg)
    • 3 tons of beef burger (3000 bags, each bag weighing 1 kg)

The seized items were confiscated with a receipt until the Public Prosecution issues a decision, after confirming their expiration and non-compliance with standard specifications.

The campaign also included inspections of commercial activities to ensure compliance with price announcements and approved health requirements.
