Journalist and media figure Samir Omar, head of the news channels sector at the United Media Services Company, stated that the Palestinian resistance suffered heavy losses after October 7, 2023. Gaza was destroyed, senior leaders were lost, including Iranian leaders, and a major supporter in Lebanon, Hezbollah, was also affected.
Omar added in his interview with media presenter Nashaat Al-Dihy on the program “With Paper and Pen” on Ten TV: “The question here is, do these facts align with Trump’s 21-point plan? I believe Netanyahu wants to corner Hamas into rejecting the plan to create a justification for continuing this war, maintaining his position as Israel’s leader and dominance over the Israeli scene.”
At the end of the interview, Nashaat Al-Dihy thanked Samir Omar for joining the episode and mentioned they would follow together the press conference held between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Al-Dihy expressed his hope that the press conference would lead to some calm in the region, which has been on edge for two years. He noted that Egypt has been the biggest loser, suffering greatly and paying the price through disputes, accusations, and doubts, in addition to the financial impact on the Suez Canal revenues. Samir Omar confirmed that Egypt has incurred huge economic losses since the events of October 7, 2023.
