Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, Egypt’s Minister of Military Production, received Armen Sarkissian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Egypt, to discuss areas of joint cooperation at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The Minister welcomed the Armenian Ambassador, emphasizing the meeting’s goal to explore cooperation in military and civilian manufacturing fields. He highlighted the historically strong and growing relations between Egypt and Armenia, supported by political leadership, as evidenced by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Armenia in January 2023 and the Armenian Prime Minister’s visit to Egypt in March 2024 to discuss bilateral cooperation in various fields.

The Minister reviewed the Ministry’s capabilities in military manufacturing, stressing its primary role in meeting the needs of the armed forces and police with weapons, equipment, and ammunition. He noted that surplus production capacity is utilized to manufacture high-quality civilian products at competitive prices and to participate in national development projects. The Ministry’s strategy focuses on openness and cooperation with global companies to adopt the latest manufacturing technologies and localize them within affiliated companies. He expressed the Ministry’s welcome to cooperation with Armenian companies across various fields to establish strategic partnerships beneficial to both sides.

The Minister also invited Armenian companies to participate in the International Defense Industries Exhibition “EDEX 2025,” scheduled to be held in Egypt from December 1 to 4, 2025, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

For his part, Armen Sarkissian expressed his happiness with the meeting, noting Armenia’s interest in cooperating with Egypt, especially with the Military Production companies, given their distinguished manufacturing and technical capabilities and their vital role in localizing modern technologies across various production fields as one of Egypt’s key industrial arms. He stressed the importance of exchanging visits by specialists and technical delegations to assess technological and manufacturing capabilities and precisely define areas of joint cooperation.

He added that these visits represent fertile ground for establishing fruitful strategic partnerships, especially given the strong cooperative friendship relations between Egypt and Armenia.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Armen praised Egypt’s remarkable development in various fields, particularly digital transformation and the adoption of modern manufacturing technologies and the principles of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He also commended Egypt’s influential and active role in its regional and international environment and its role in supporting peace and stability in the region.
