The Damietta Port Authority announced in an official statement issued by its media center that the port received 13 new ships in the past 24 hours, while 8 ships departed, bringing the total number of ships at the port to 26.
The statement explained that the outbound movement of general goods amounted to about 14,188 tons, including:
- 2,188 tons of packed cement
- 9,840 tons of urea
- 788 tons of clinker
- 1,176 tons of packed gypsum powder
- 196 tons of various goods
- 12,968 tons of beans
- 7,478 tons of iron
- 12,652 tons of scrap
- 5,494 tons of ablakhash
- 18,546 tons of corn
- 696 tons of beech wood
- 8,289 tons of wheat
On the other hand, the inbound movement of general goods recorded 66,123 tons, including:
The movement of containers, both inbound and outbound, reached 29 TEUs, while the number of transit containers was 115 TEUs.
The statement pointed out that the grain silo and cereals stock belonging to the public sector at the port reached 68,545 tons of wheat, while the wheat stock in private sector warehouses was about 27,000 tons.
Furthermore, the number of trucks entering and leaving the port during the same period was 4,482 trucks, reflecting the intensive activity witnessed by the port in goods handling.
