The Victory Team announced its readiness to compete in the second and third rounds of the Formula 1 World Championship for powerboats, held in China. The second round will take place in Shanghai from October 2 to 4, followed by the third round in Zhengzhou from October 10 to 12.
Leading the Victory Team delegation arriving in China today, Monday, is Khaled Khamis bin Dasmal, Board Member of Dubai International Marine Sports Club. The delegation includes Mohamed Abdullah Harib, Board Member and CEO, Ahmed Al-Sumaiti, Director of Sports Teams at the club, and racers Alec Wikstrom and Shaun Torrente.
The Victory Team aims to build momentum after a strong performance in the first round held in Indonesia, finishing second in the overall team standings with 34 points. Racer Alec Wikstrom secured second place individually with 24 points, while Shaun Torrente ranked seventh with 10 points.
The team enters the competition atmosphere after a series of tests and preparations for the upcoming two rounds of the Formula 1 World Championship, focusing on all stages including speed races, best lap times, free practices, and the main race, with ambitions to achieve the best times and accumulate the highest points to continue competing strongly for round titles and the current season championship.
Ahmed Al-Sumaiti, Director of Sports Teams at Dubai International Marine Sports Club, confirmed the completion of preparations for the two consecutive rounds in China, stating: “Victory Team’s ambition is always to be on the podium and embrace titles. We look forward to the racers delivering the strong performances they showed in the first round and to continue building momentum in the China rounds to achieve the desired goals this season, which will be very competitive given the rival teams. However, our confidence is high, and we look forward to continuing the journey of achievements always associated with Victory Team, which has become a prominent Emirati brand from Dubai, constantly linked to excellence worldwide.”
Victory Team is one of the most successful Emirati and international teams in powerboat racing across various categories. It has won more than 26 world titles and achieved over 600 podium finishes. It is worth noting that the fourth round of the Formula 1 World Championship will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from November 27 to 29, followed by the fifth round in Sharjah from December 19 to 21.
