A group calling itself the “National Resistance” has claimed responsibility for the explosion that targeted the entrance of a newly established Israeli military site in the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria. The attack resulted in serious injuries to a reserve officer in the Israeli army, according to Israeli sources.

The movement stated in its statement that it “monitored the movements of occupation forces before planting the explosive device at the entrance of one of the military points,” confirming that the operation is part of what it described as “its first operations against the Israeli occupation on Syrian soil.”

The “National Resistance” also issued a warning to the transitional administration in Damascus against continuing the policy of pursuing resistors in Daraa and Quneitra, considering that this policy “will lead to consequences that the resistance neither wants nor plans for.”

Meanwhile, Israeli media described the group as affiliated with the Iran-backed axis, noting that the operation marked a new development on the southern Syrian front.
