Dubai Airports, the operator of the world’s busiest international airport by passenger traffic, announced its collaboration with three influential figures in the field of empowering people of determination as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance Dubai International Airport’s position as the most inclusive destination worldwide.
The advisors—Jessica Smith, a Paralympic athlete and consultant in disability inclusion; Fatima Al Jasmi, an Emirati expert in disability rights and empowerment and founder of the community support and inclusion organization “Angel Wolf”—will leverage their expertise and experiences to identify potential gaps in the travel experience, challenge stereotypes, and contribute to creating practical solutions that promote accessible travel.
This collaboration reflects Dubai Airports’ vision, which is based on engaging the lived experiences and effective contributions of people of determination alongside developing appropriate infrastructure.
Majid Al Jowker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, said: “True inclusivity is achieved when we adopt the perspectives of those with lived experience, and by focusing on the life experiences of our guests, we can craft a travel experience that supports our ambition to become the most inclusive airport globally.”
Jessica Smith, Fatima Al Jasmi, and the Angel Wolf team bring rich human and practical experience. Jessica Smith is a well-known consultant in disability inclusion and a former Paralympic athlete who represented Australia at the 2004 Paralympic Games. Fatima Al Jasmi is a pioneering Emirati in disability rights and empowerment. The family-run Angel Wolf organization in Dubai is renowned for setting multiple world records in the Guinness Book through inclusive sports activities.
This new collaboration marks a further step in Dubai Airports’ journey towards building a more inclusive future for the aviation sector. As the first international airport in the world to receive the Autism Friendly Environment certification from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), Dubai International Airport has trained more than 53,000 employees on how to assist travelers with invisible challenges.
