The General Authority for Statistics today released the Labor Market Statistics Bulletin for the second quarter of 2025. According to the results, the overall labor force participation rate (for Saudis and non-Saudis) reached 67.1%, while the overall unemployment rate (for Saudis and non-Saudis) was 3.2%. The participation rate for Saudis in the labor force was 49.2%, and the unemployment rate among Saudis was 6.8%.

The bulletin showed that the participation rate of Saudi males in the labor force was 64.0%, while the unemployment rate for Saudi males was 4.3%. The results also indicated that the participation rate of Saudi females in the labor force was 34.5%, with an unemployment rate of 11.3% among Saudi females.

Regarding Saudi youth females (aged 15-24), the employment-to-population ratio was 13.8%, and their labor force participation rate was 17.4%. For Saudi youth males, the employment-to-population ratio was 28.0%, with a labor force participation rate of 31.6%.

For Saudi residents (both males and females) in the prime working age group (25 to 54 years) in Q2 2025, the employment-to-population ratio was 63.3%, and the labor force participation rate was 67.3%. The unemployment rate was reported at 5.9%.

Regarding job search methods, the bulletin noted that direct application to employers was the most used method at 72.4%, followed by using the unified national employment platform (Jadarat) at 56.3%, while asking friends or relatives about job opportunities accounted for 50.5%.
