Park Beom-ki, South Korea’s special presidential envoy to Egypt and a member of the Korean parliament, affirmed on Tuesday his country’s full readiness to enhance the partnership with the Egyptian government, business sector, and people, aiming to elevate it to a comprehensive strategic partnership level. He said, “We look forward to a new success that benefits both our peoples, and I hope Korea and Egypt continue their successful growth experiences with their distinctive capabilities and geographical advantages to build economic cooperation beneficial to both peoples.”
This statement was made during the Egypt-Korea Economic Cooperation and Partnership Conference, held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Egypt.
At the beginning of his speech, the envoy expressed his great pleasure to participate in this historic event, sending greetings to Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and South Korean Ambassador to Egypt, Kim Young-hyun.
He praised Egypt’s development vision, noting that the recently announced “National Narrative for Economic Development” represents an important roadmap embodying Egypt’s growth vision. He expressed hope that this vision will succeed and bring more prosperity to the Egyptian people.
He also commended Egypt’s pivotal role regionally, affirming that “Egypt has shown active leadership in diplomacy and security, being a key contributor to peace and prosperity in the Middle East.”
The envoy recalled President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to South Korea in 2016, noting that President el-Sisi admired Korea’s development experience at that time. He expressed hope that the integration of Korea’s developmental expertise with Egypt’s capabilities and strategic location would create new momentum benefiting both peoples.
The envoy confirmed that the bilateral relations between the two countries (Egypt and South Korea) are solid and deeply rooted, expressing his aspiration for Korea and Egypt to continue working together to consolidate economic cooperation and mutual benefit, leveraging each other’s strengths and geographical advantages.
He concluded his speech by reaffirming South Korea’s commitment to work side by side with the Egyptian government to strengthen the bilateral partnership.
He said, “We look forward to realizing the full potential of our cooperation soon, and hope today’s conference will result in serious discussions and solid ideas to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.” He wished success to Korea and its people, and to friendly Egypt and its people.
